Welcome! I’m Prashant Thakur — U.S. Tax Law & Indian Tax Advisor

With over 30 years of experience in tax advisory and litigation, I bring a unique perspective to the world of U.S. taxation (Internal Revenue Code or IRC). Having served 20 years inside the Indian Income Tax Department, I understand tax enforcement and compliance from both sides of the table.

While I continue to practice under the Income Tax Act of India, I now dedicate a major part of my time to blogging about U.S. tax law, especially topics like federal income tax, IRS notices, crypto taxation, Form 1040 guidance, and cross-border tax issues that affect NRIs and dual filers.

I am the author of three tax-focused books:

  • Tax Evasion Through Shares (2008 & 2012 editions),
  • Taxing Question Simple Answer (2013) and
  • Crypto Taxation in USA (2022)
