    The answer to this question is Yes & No .  Yes, if if paid an attorney for any service that helped you in earining money that you included as taxable income . Similaraly you can also deduct the attorney fee who helps you with a tax matter. Here is the list of circumstances in which you can claim attorney fees while computing taxable income

    1. Tax advice you may obtain during a divorce case can be deductible if alimoney money is shown as taxable receipts. Make sure your attorney’s bill is proportiantely divided between  the fee between tax and nontax services.
    2. Attorney fees one ex-spouse pays in an attempt to get the other ex-spouse to pay past-due alimony are deductible.
    3. Tax advice for formulating an estate plan is deductible.
    4. You can deduct legal fees related to doing or keeping your job.
    5. Attorney fees you pay to receive your share of a class action settlement in a lawsuit against your employer or former employer are deductible.
    6. Attorney fees you incur in bringing a discrimination claim
    7. Attorney fees incurred in a Social Security appeal are deductible to the extent that the benefits obtained are taxable
    8. Attorney fees incurred to evict a tenant from a rental property are deductible.
