Deadline for Stimulus Check Registration Extended

The IRS has extended the deadline to register online for the stimulus check to November 21 of 2020. Earlier, IRS had fixed the deadline for registration to 15th October. But, as that deadline got closer, the IRS decided to push back the due date and give Americans an extra five weeks to claim a stimulus check.

Most people who are eligible for a stimulus check have already received their payment of up to $1,200, plus an extra $500 for each child 16 years old or younger at the end of 2019. If you have not received stimulus check yet like millions others , the probable cause may be :

One of the reasons for the non-filing of tax return is the absence of income or income being below the tax limit. Then, many people are homeless, so they may find it difficult to register online or even aware of how to do it.

New Deadline for Stimulus Check Online Registration

Now , anyone can register on IRS’s Non-Filers tool upto November 21, 2020 (originally October 15). If you don’t act by November 21, you can still get your money if you’re eligible for a check – but you’ll have to wait until next year and claim it as a tax credit on your 2020 income tax return.
