If you received advance payments of the Premium Tax Credit for health insurance through the Marketplace, you must file Form 8962. This form:
- Reconciles advance payments received
- Calculates final credit amount
- Determines if you must repay excess credits
The form is required per Section 36B of the Internal Revenue Code. Include it with your Form 1040 tax return.
