The heavy highway vehicle use applies to highway motor vehicles- which generally includes large trucks, truck tractors and buses- with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more. This .
How to File form 2290 ?
The IRS rule says that any taxpayer having 25 or more taxable heavy vehicle must file form 2290 electronically i.e efile the form 2290 . Owners of less than 25 vehicle can file Form 2290 manually. Filing Form 2290 electronically is preferable mode for following convenience
- It does not require any visit to IRS office.
- You receive IRS-stamped Schedule 1 electronically minutes after filing.
- which can be provided it to the state department of motor vehicles, without visiting an IRS office.
