The return-free filing agreement between IRS and other major software participants was signed in the year 2003. As a result,a Free File Alliance was created by twelve tax-software companies. So, for the tax year 2019 for which the due date falls on 15th April 2020 ( 31st October in case you applied for an extension to file) too, you can avail of free filing online services offered by ten tax software companies. If your Adjusted Gross Income is $69,000 or less, age is 70 or younger, and not residing in the state of DC, FL, IN, LA, MT, NH, NM, NV, RI, SD, TN, TX or WA .They also provide filing services to Active Military personnel with AGI of $69,000 or less.

Irrespective of where you live in USA,if you are 65 years or less and having adjusted gross income between $9000 to $69,000, you can free file through their online services. Active Military personnel with AGI of $69,000 or less also get free filing services.

You can use their free online filing services provided you live in the states of AL, AR, AZ, CA, GA, IA, ID, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NY, OK, OR, RI, SC, VA, VT or WV and earning AGI of $ 69,000 or less OR living in CO, CT, DC, DE, HI, IL, KS, LA, MA, MD, ME, MT, NE, NJ, NM, OH, PA, UT or WI and earning $68,000 or less.

If your Adjusted Gross Income is $36,000 or less ,OR you are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, then , you can use the free filing services from FreTaxUSA. Further, those who are in active military service with Adjusted Gross Income of $69,000 or less can also use their services

7.TaxAct

If you are 56 years or younger and your Adjusted Gross Income is $59,000 or less , you can use the free filing services from TaxAct. Those who are in active military service with Adjusted Gross Income of $69,000 or less can also use their services

8.TurboTax

A taxpayer of any age can use their free filing services if their Adjusted Gross Income is $36,000 or less .Similar to TaxAct, people with military service with Adjusted Gross Income of $69,000 or less can also use their free filing services.

9.H&R Block

You can use their filing services if your Adjusted Gross Income is $69,000 or less, AND your age is between 17 and 51, OR you are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, OR you are in Active Military with AGI of $69,000 or less.

10.OLT.com

Irrespective of where you live in USA or Age ,if your adjusted gross income between $14,000 to $69,000, you can free file through their online services. Active Military personnel with AGI of $69,000 or less also get free filing services.
