How to Know if Stimulus Check is Arriving in Your Mailbox?

The IRS is mandated to dispatch the second stimulus check of $600 to all eligible Americans by 15th January 2021. Therefore, your economic impact payment or EIP 2 check could arrive a few days after the Jan as a paper check or EIP debit card in the mailbox. So, you may want to start watching your mailbox closely. For, purpose, this post elaborates on two excellent tools that provide you with easy ways to track your stimulus check.

Get My Payment Tool

 The IRS’ Get My Payment tool is an online app that will display how your $600 stimulus check money will arrive, information about your payment schedule and how it’s arriving.

USPS Informed Delivery service

Then, if you learn your payment is coming in the mail, you can sign up for a free USPS service called USPS Informed Delivery service that will show you when your letters have been scanned, are in transit and have been delivered to your home. So, that free service will show the time of arrival of your second stimulus check in your mail box.

USPS Informed Delivery automatically scans all letters and alerts a registered addressee with an image each time a letter is about to be delivered. So, if the IRS has despatched your stimulus check or EIP debit card through USPS, you can actually track its mailing status. You will be able to see the digital image of the front of all letter-size mail.

How to Use USPS Informed Delivery Tool?

If you sign up for Informed Delivery, USPS may take three days to activate it. Once activated, you can set automatic notification via mail whenever a mail with your name on it is on the way. Thus, after that you may receive an email each morning, Monday through Saturday, to notify you of any mail being delivered to you. You’ll also see a grayscale image of the front of the letter.

Readers should note that opting for informed delivery will not only show the stimulus check delivery information , but all the mail scanned by the post office

What to do if you did not receive stimulus check?

If you don’t receive your money within a week or so after 15th January 2021 in your mailbox, , you can still get in form of recovery rebate credit while filing a tax return in 2021.
